Anthony T. Adams, Sr. (Tony) is a seasoned and accomplished Property Management professional with more than 40 years of diversified experience in Real Estate Management and Leasing. Tony has developed a superior reputation for anticipating and managing client needs. As a Certified Property Manager (CPM) and Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA), Tony has developed a focused customer orientation and business acumen.
He founded The Commercial Management Group, Inc. (TCMG) as a start up Property Management Company facilitating resident services for properties in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. Today, TCMG manages every phase of property management from pre-development consultation to community and financial restoration assistance.
The company has grown from its original 10 clients to managing a portfolio of more than 57 communities and commercial properties. His expertise has earned him a recognized place of leadership in the Washington/Baltimore Business Corridor.
Tony earned a coveted slot in the “Leadership Howard County” training program, which identifies and prepares public and private sector professionals for positions in leadership. Tony has garnered similar successes throughout his career.
While at The Oliver T. Carr Company, he helped design and develop the operational management systems for the “Metro Market” food court at International Square, Washington, D.C.’s largest mixed-use complex.
Mr. Adams has held leadership positions in top companies in the real estate and property management industry including, Senior Real Estate Manager for Danac Real Estate Investment Corporation, Assistant Mall Manager for the Rouse Company, and Executive V.P. and General Manager for Broadway Management Corporation (a subsidiary of John Hopkins University and Hospital). While at Broadway Management, he was credited with bringing the company out of a negative cash flow into a position of profitability in two and one-half years.
Mr. Adams received the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management and the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) from the Community Associations Institute. He holds a B.A. degree in Sociology from Gannon University, Erie, PA and a M.A. degree in Urban Studies from Howard University, Washington D.C. He has completed all of the Institute of Real Estate Management Executive Level Courses and the Operations Management Leadership Training Programs sponsored by the Community Associations Institute. He is also the recipient of the prestigious “Hughes Award” from the Institute of Real Estate Management for his contributions and service to the property management industry.
